Guidelines for Proposal Submission
A. Applicants must complete the online submission form in its entirety. The individual who submits the proposal online will be the "primary presenter" - all correspondence leading up to the conference will be directed to this individual. It is the duty of the primary presenter to relay all relevant information to any additional presenters.
B. There are two deadlines for submission: November 21 and January 23. Priority in acceptance will be given to proposals submitted by the first deadline. No proposals will be read after January 23.
C. Individuals and organizations may submit up to four proposals.
D. Only information provided on the workshop proposal form will be considered. Please do not send attachments or cover letters. If you have any trouble completing the online submission form, please contact the Conference Program Coordinator.
E. Proposal submission is open to anyone, including but not limited to undergraduate and graduate students, campus staff, nonprofit staff, employees of socially responsible businesses, faculty, and community members. However, all presenters must register for the conference and must pay in full.
F. You will receive a confirmation via email no more than two business days after we receive your proposal. If you do not receive a confirmation, please call the Conference Program Coordinator, Heather Cronk, at 215-382-1888 to verify that we received your proposal.
G. You will receive a notice of acceptance, provisional acceptance, or rejection within two weeks of the deadline by which you submitted a proposal. Those who submit by November 21 will hear back by December 5 and those who submit by January 23 will hear back by February 6.
H. If your session is accepted:
- 1. Presenters of accepted sessions must register for and attend the 2006 C.O.O.L. Idealist National Conference. This includes the primary presenter and any/all additional presenters.
- 2. The primary presenter will be expected to make modifications to the session in accordance with any recommendations from the conference committee.
- 3. Once a session has been accepted, the primary presenter must complete all of the following steps:
- Refine the session's content as advised by the conference committee, if asked.
- Communicate promptly with the Conference Program Coordinator at all times.
- Relay all correspondence from the Conference Program Coordinator to additional presenters, if applicable.
- Ensure that any handouts or other resources used in the session are sent to the Conference Program Coordinator following the event for posting on the Idealist On Campus website.
Please note that this is not a registration form. All accepted presenters (including primary presenters, co-presenters, and/or additional presenters) must register for the conference in full. Please visit our online registration site.
See last year's conference website to get a sense of the range of issues that have been covered at this event in the past. We welcome all workshop topics, from all perspectives, and seek a broad and rich program!
