"Local Campus" Program
The "Local Campus" program has been designed to recognize the contributions of Nashville-area students and campus community members who demonstrate significant commitment to this event.
How does my Nashville-area college or university begin the process for being considered a "Local Campus"?
Email Trish at trish@idealist.org (Subject: LOCAL CAMPUS) right away to let her know that your campus is interested in taking advantage of this exciting opportunity.
What does my college or university need to do to be considered a "Local Campus"?
In order to secure a "Local Campus" rate for students on your campus, you must meet at least four of the following requirements by the designated deadlines:
- Have at least one student represent your campus on the Student Planning Committee
- Hold a minimum of two (2) general information sessions about the C.O.O.L. Idealist National Conference on your campus
- Promote the conference through various media outlets on campus (i.e. list serves, newsletters, articles or ads in campus newspaper)
- Secure financial support (either partial or full scholarships) for a minimum of ten (10) students from your campus
- Encourage attending students from your campus to submit a workshop [Workshop Submission deadlines: November 21 (priority), January 23 (final)] by providing support and instruction on workshop design and facilitation.
- Click here for resources on workshop design ("Designing Training Components") and basic facilitation ("Facilitation 101, 201, & 202")
- Email Trish at trish@idealist.org for information about hosting or attending a local training on these topics
For more information about any of the above requirements, please contact Trish at trish@idealist.org.
Who can earn the local rate for your campus and who is responsible for keeping track of the process on our campus?
Our staff is happy to work with students, administrators or faculty members to track your progress toward achieving "Local Campus" status. However, campuses should designate one person to serve as our main point of contact throughout the process.
What is the process for tracking these requirements?
Campuses can register at the local rate as soon as they contact Trish at trish@idealist.org. After that, campuses will have until February 24 (one week before the conference) to fulfill the outlined requirements. Your campus rep will be responsible for reporting progress to Trish as requirements are completed. Campuses who do not meet a minimum of four requirements by the deadline will be expected to pay the full registration fee associated with their original date of their registration.
What is the "Local Campus" rate?
$125 (a 25% discount off the regular student rate)
