Getting to Campus

Driving to Vanderbilt from the Nashville International Airport (BNA)

Take I-40 west to exit 209A. Turn left onto Broadway. Follow Broadway and veer right to West End Avenue. Allow approximately thirty minutes driving time from the airport to Vanderbilt University. If traffic is light, it will take less time.

Driving to the Campus

  • From the north, take I-65 to I-40 west and then look for I-40 east to exit 209B. Turn right on Broadway.
  • From the east or south, take I-40 west to exit 209A. Turn left on Broadway.
  • From the west, take I-40 east to exit 209B. Turn right on Broadway (US 70S).

Follow Broadway and veer right to West End Avenue.

Vanderbilt is located a mile and a half southwest of downtown Nashville and is approximately 4 hours from Atlanta, 3 hours from Birmingham, 2 1/2 hours from Knoxville, 3 hours from Louisville, and 3 hours from Memphis.

Parking On Campus

A limited amount of on-campus parking is available. Parking passes will be distributed on a first-come first-served basis at registration.

Twenty parking spaces are available for persons with disabilities in the Student Life Center garage, located at 310 25th Ave South. (From 25th Ave turn onto Vanderbilt Place, take an immediate right into a metered parking lot, pull straight ahead into the Student Life Center garage.)

Please note: These spaces can also be used as temporary load and unload parking for exhibitors before the Opportunties Fair.

Meals

We are excited to be partnering with Vanderbilt Dining for the 2006 C.O.O.L. Idealist National Conference.

Please note that conference registration fees include:

  • 3 continental breakfasts (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday mornings)
  • 3 boxed lunches (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday afternoons)
  • 1 dinner (Friday evening)

Additionally, Oxfam will be hosting a free Hunger Banquet on Saturday evening. Seating is limited, so be sure to sign up for the Hunger Banquet when you register for the conference online. Check out HungerBanquet.org for more information about the program.

Vegetarian and vegan options will be available.

What to Wear

Most attendees at previous C.O.O.L. Idealist Conferences have worn casual attire. All conference attendees will receive a free conference T-shirt this year. Feel free to represent your school or group by bringing T-shirts, sweatshirts, etc. from your home campus or organization.
