ORC worldwide

Please join us for the first conference on Mitigating Trauma and Stress in International Staff and Volunteers. This first-ever effort in the U.S. will examine how organizations provide psychosocial support to their expatriate and local staff and volunteers working overseas. The conference will be generously hosted by The Kroc Institute for International Peace Studies at the University of Notre Dame.

The goals

This conference has three main goals:

  • To address organizational challenges of providing psychosocial support to staff and volunteers by allowing professionals to share research, best practices, experiences and ideas through a variety of workshops and sessions.

  • To encourage networking and community-building among staff from international NGOs and researchers working to improve systems of support for staff and volunteers who are working overseas.

  • To facilitate discussion around future collaboration, consciousness-raising, and next steps in bringing these issues to a larger audience.
