Description:
Do you have initiative and a passion for change? Are you looking for website designing experience that will develop your portfolio while contributing to international aid work?
PEPY is a small, dynamic NGO located in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. We are looking for an enthusiastic Web Designer intern available now for a period of 6 months (though timing can be flexible). He/she will be responsible for designing a new PEPY Ride website and maintaining our PEPY Tours and PEPY People Network (NING) websites.
Our current PEPY Ride website (www.pepyride.org) provides information on our non-profit, our mission, and our programs. PEPY increases access to education in Cambodia through support for two rural PEPY Schools, a Bike-to-School Program providing bicycles to students in rural areas, and the Road-to-Literacy initiative promoting Khmer literacy. To support these programs, PEPY works with a variety of educational, environmental, and health organizations across the country.
Responsibilities include working with the PEPY Program Manager to redesign the PEPY Ride website to mirror our new PEPY Tours website. He/she will also maintain the integrity of our current sites by updating program information, adding written team journal entries, updating upcoming tour information, posting photos, linking to recent press, and completing general website maintenance.
Requirements:
• Experience in the design of web sites
• Basic Joomla understanding and experience
• Efficient and proactive testing of changes and updates
• Critical review skills and strong attention to detail necessary
• Must be able to work independently as well as collaboratively with the PEPY team.
Ideally, the Web Designer would also have graphic design experience and be able to assist with the design of marketing materials, cycling route-maps, calendars, school uniform and t-shirt designs, information packets, media kits, and imagery. While preferred, this experience is not required.
The location of this role is flexible. If you are looking for an invaluable experience working in a small, dynamic NGO, join us in our office in Phnom Penh! Assist in the day-to-day operations of PEPY and receive first-hand experience working with local NGOs.
We will also accept applicants who prefer to work remotely.
This is an unpaid internship, but shared housing can possibly be arranged in Phnom Penh. PEPY will arrange and pay for the cost of the visa but not the travel arrangements. The intern should plan to cover their own personal expenses during the internship.
