About Us:
For more than 25years, Habitat for Humanity of Montgomery County Maryland, Inc (HfH-MC) has been partnering with the community and low-income families living in substandard conditions, to build simple, decent, affordable housing. To date, HfH-MC has built and rehabilitated 31 homes for local families. HfH-MC partner families are selected after meeting our criteria for need, ability to pay and willingness to partner. HfH-MC homebuyers contribute “sweat equity” towards the construction of their homes and participate in Homeowner Workshops. Our homes are built by the homebuyers and volunteers, then sold at no-profit and financed with affordable, no interest mortgages. Homeowner mortgage payments are made directly to HfH-MC and contribute to a revolving fund which helps to build even more Habitat homes in Montgomery County.

It is an exciting time at our growing affiliate- as we are currently building 12 additional town homes in Burtonsville, MD

Development Internship

Description:
Support Development Department in several areas including;
• Create and distribute hard copy and electronic newsletters/basic communications with w/updates, helpful info. Affiliate news, upcoming reminders etc...
• Monitor and track special events.
• Assist with the tracking and management of event participants
• Assist with preparation for special events, activities, projects

Internship Location:
Habitat for Humanity of Montgomery County, MD. 9100 Gaither Road, Gaithersburg MD 20877. Car would be easiest to reach us but accessible by Red Line (Shady Grove stop) then a 5 minute bus ride to our office.

Requirements:
Unpaid internship.
Minimum commitment of 8 hours a week

Qualifications:
Interest in mission of Habitat for Humanity
Strong interest in nonprofit work/organizations. Experience preferred but not required
Strong writing skills
Strong research skills
Reliability, dependability are a MUST
Energetic, professional attitude
Careful attention to detail
Ability to work hard, meet deadlines and complete assigned projects
Sense of humor, flexibility, and willingness to be part of our dynamic team are a must!
