Description:
Provide health education outreach and engagement activities for the Hunts Point community; Responsible for delivering health education workshops to Hunts Point residents in the following categories: Asthma, Diabetes, and HIV/AIDS; Responsible for leading activities (based on a developed curriculum) for each workshop in English and Spanish; Conduct and share health education research with staff in the field of Asthma, Diabetes, and HIV/AIDS; Organize and order supplies/materials. Attend relevant fairs, conferences, and trainings as a team member of the Hunts Point H.O.P.E. project.
Additional Qualifications:
Experience working in the South Bronx or similar communities. Experience and comfort discussing the above issues with diverse populations.
Proven skills in planning and/or delivering a health education curriculum.
Classroom or group facilitation skills
Proven self-starter who exhibits a strong sense of teamwork and is committed to continuous process and program improvement.
Available to work 10am-7pm Monday-Friday and weekends on occasion
Experience providing trainings/workshops a plus.
Effective written & verbal communication skills, organizational skills & ability to work under pressure.
