Job Description: 

Dress for Success® Worldwide is seeking a driven, creative, and highly organized individual to join our Communications team. The ideal candidate is eager to jump in on various public relations, marketing and communications initiatives and is proficient in social media management including but not limited to Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, X, and Tik Tok, as well as email marketing content and distribution via Mailchimp, Outlook and other technologies. This candidate has demonstrated experience creating, posting, and updating online content and managing a wide array of online and offline platforms including Hootsuite, Adobe, Office, Teams, WordPress, Dropbox, Basecamp, Canva, Slack, Zoom, and others. This role is based in New York City.


Essential Functions: 

The primary area of responsibility will be to create engaging content and to manage all our social media channels, the website, and email marketing communications while maximizing analytics to increase brand awareness and social engagement. Familiarity with basic scheduling software is a must.

The social media coordinator will also interact and engage with Dress for Success Worldwide related content from corporate partners and affiliates.

This position works closely with the development, events, and affiliate impact teams to ensure seamless communication executions and a unified voice, and with members of the global affiliate network to create and distribute content. The person in this position will also have the opportunity to work with leadership in ideating new campaigns and planning strategies to move the organization forward. 

 Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate Dress for Success Worldwide social media strategy and present a social media engagement and development plan
  • Lead content creation, collateral development and messaging for the Dress for Success website, all social media platforms, and email marketing initiatives
  • Design graphics for social media posts and email marketing initiatives
  • Engage with the social media audience and conduct social media due diligence as needed. Strong emphasis on LinkedIn content creation, engagement, and analytics
  • Coordinate and manage our social media community management
  • Responsible for monitoring and analyzing social media stakeholder interactions, including affiliates, sponsors, partners, and donors to assess engagement levels and effectiveness of collaborative campaigns
  • Develop and monitor social media KPI’s
  • Maintain a clear and organized social media calendar including strategy, deliverables, and deadlines
  • Consistently monitor and update the Dress for Success Worldwide website to ensure it is current and engaging for our audience
  • Manage and report on all social media platforms with the goal of further engaging our existing digital supporters
  • Strategize to increase social engagement
  • Create engaging collateral for events and campaigns as needed
  • Keep track and report on web and social media any mentions of Dress for Success via Google alerts and other tools
  • Collaborate with the director of communications and other team members/departments on special projects 
  • Create decks as needed
  • Create campaign toolkits 
  • Run social media ad campaigns as needed
  • Administrative duties as directed

  • Proficient in design tools and software including Adobe Photoshop and InDesign and Canva
  • Demonstrated experience using email marketing program such as Mailchimp 
  • Demonstrated experience using WordPress and/or other web management tool
  • Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team while demonstrating good judgement


Required Education and Experience: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, marketing, communications, public relations, graphic design and/or related majors
  • At least 3 years’ experience in journalism, marketing, social media, social advertising or communications/public relations 

Supervisory Responsibility: 

This position has no supervision responsibilities.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work: 

This is a full-time position with a business schedule from Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM. Employees must work 37.5 hours each week to maintain full-time status.  Limited travel may be required.

Work Environment: 

Dress for Success Worldwide offers a congenial work environment. The dress code is business smart/business casual and employees work on-site in our New York City office three days per week and remotely two days per week.     

Dress for Success Worldwide maintains a COVID-19 Mandatory Vaccination Policy and is taking appropriate measures to ensure the safety and health of our employees, volunteers, and clients.

Physical Demands:

Employee may need to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds in performing regular office duties and managing records, files, and materials. 

Work Authorization: 

Must be able to show eligibility for employment in the United States within three days of hire.
