About Cornelia Connelly Center

Located in Manhattan’s East Village, the Cornelia Connelly Center (CCC) champions girls, empowering them to realize their full potential from middle school through college and beyond. CCC offers a thirteen-year program, partnering with each girl and her family from 4th grade to college graduation. Through Connelly Middle School of the Holy Child (CMS), students in grades 4 through 8 receive a joyful, holistic education. Our Graduate Support Program (GSP) serves CMS alumnae, persistently committed to their high school success and college completion. About the Position

The Advancement Coordinator will work closely with the Advancement Director to ensure the success of CCC’s annual advancement efforts, which raise $2.2 million annually from individuals, institutions, and events. The Advancement Coordinator will guide the strategy for communications and fundraising appeals, playing an important role in supporting efforts in all funding streams. The Advancement Coordinator will also collaborate with the School’s Finance Department and other colleagues to ensure accurate and timely reporting.

This role requires attention to detail and professionalism in all things, from daily emails to donors and interactions with the Center’s Trustees, faculty, staff, and students. Candidates must possess superb writing and communication skills and be an energetic, affable self-starter with a can-do attitude and a strong commitment to CCC’s mission to empower every girl to realize her full potential.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

Fundraising

  • In collaboration with the Advancement Director, assist in setting annual giving goals and developing and driving a master plan and calendar for all annual giving activities. 
  • Manage a portfolio of monthly and annual fund low-dollar donors ($1K and under) by cultivating and maintaining positive and ongoing relationships that lead to continuous and increased giving.
  • With the support of the Advancement Director, manage three annual appeal mailings each school year; write effective and persuasive direct mail and digital appeals and oversee mailing processes.
  • Provide administrative support to the Director of Advancement and Executive Director in individual and institutional prospect research, donor tracking and lists, information management, and external reporting.

Database & Gift Processing 

  • Maintain the Advancement database to ensure accurate, updated, and relevant constituent giving and contact information. 
  • Assist in maintaining accurate financial records by processing and acknowledging gifts and sending weekly donation reports to the Advancement Director and Executive Director; collaborate with the Finance Department on monthly reconciliations.
  • Produce database reports for all fundraising and communication purposes.
  • Serve as the Department’s expert on its database and develop and implement plans and procedures to improve its integrity. 

Event Planning  

  • Support the coordination and planning of all CCC events, including the annual spring benefit and other cultivation and stewardship events, from initial planning to day-of leadership onsite.
  • Coordinate and lead overall event planning, organization, and logistics for CCC’s annual benefit, which raises approximately 30% of its revenue.
  • Manage guest lists, communication lists, and gift entry for 1-5 additional smaller community events throughout the year. 

Communications, Content & Social Media Management 

  • In coordination with the Advancement Director, execute on the Center’s annual communications plan, including social media posts, annual report, website, and e-newsletters..
  • Create content for written communication and marketing efforts for newsletters and the Center’s website.
  • Take photos of school life and events for CCC’s website, social media, and fundraising collateral and manage the digital depository of photographs.

Other Responsibilities 

  • Serve as the liaison for CCC’s Alumnae Association and  Junior Advisory Board (JAB) and support the management of other volunteer opportunities.
  • Manage the student tour guide program.
  • Participate in Professional Development days and school activities and the life of the Center.
  • Other duties as assigned.

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS AND PERSONAL QUALITIES 

Educational Experience

  • A Bachelor's degree or comparable work experience.
  • Experience in nonprofit fundraising, communications, and/or marketing, or equivalent experience and a deep desire to learn about this field of work.
  • Demonstrated experience with data analysis and database management. 
  • Experience in professional social media management. 
  • Experience providing a high degree of professional customer service. 
  • Proven success in managing and maintaining collegial and professional relationships. 
  • Technical Competencies 
  • Experience with DonorPerfect or another comparable fundraising database.  
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word. 
  • Proficiency in G-Suite, Powerpoint, and social media platforms including Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn.

Typical Hours

Monday - Friday from 8 AM to 4 PM, with evening and weekend work as needed throughout the year.

Salary and Benefits

The salary range for this position is $53,000 - $60,000, commensurate with experience. Comprehensive and competitive benefits, including health, retirement and vacation.
