Description

This is a remote part-time position, however, applicants must be located near one of our volunteer chapters in California. Preference will be given to those in Northern California.

Cake4Kids is seeking a personable and detail-oriented multi-tasker to provide administrative support to our volunteer chapter leaders. The volunteer coordinator is responsible for the monitoring and maintaining the effective operations of Cake4Kids chapters through building relationships with Ambassadors and Operations Volunteers. 

Responsibilities 

  • Support Chapter Ambassadors in all areas of chapter operations including administrative tasks, partner engagement, volunteer recruitment and engagement, and event planning
  • Evaluate and report quarterly on chapter metrics
  • Communicate with Chapter Ambassadors on a frequent basis to ensure their needs are being met
  • Coordinate or participate in regularly scheduled training for Chapter Ambassadors and Operations Volunteers
  • Work with the Cake4Kids leadership to determine needs and trends within the chapters

 Expectations 

  • Spend 20-25  hours per month working with Ambassadors, Operations Volunteers and Cake4Kids Leadership
  • Participate in the monthly Ambassador team meeting and staff meeting (Tuesdays)
  • Ideal candidate is available to work Tuesday/Thursday, but would consider Monday/Wednesday schedule for the right candidate
  • Must be able to provide your own computer, phone, and stable internet access

 Preferred Competencies and Experiences 

  • 2+ years experience in volunteer coordination or management
  • Effective, clear and timely written and verbal communication 
  • Experience working on a team to meet established goals 
  • Desire to mentor and coach other Ambassador and operations volunteers 
  • Ability to think critically about issues to propose a solution 
  • Are technology savvy – we use a variety of systems and tools such as Salesforce, Outlook, Google Drive, Slack, Canva, and Zoom
