Position Overview  

The Director of Alliance Programming (DAP) is responsible for the design, planning, organization, and execution of programming for our Alliance community. The Director of Alliance Programming manages a portfolio of Alliance community program offerings to ensure (1) a high-quality experience for our member organizations, (2) that we achieve our intended impact in each offering, and (3) that we use data and feedback to drive the continuous improvement of our community over time. Reporting to the Vice President of Alliance Programming (VPAP) or the Vice President of Community Impact (VPCI), this position is an exciting opportunity to design, execute, and continuously improve how we engage, produce, and fulfill our commitments to our Alliance community.

Responsibilities  

Organizational Improvement Programming  

  • In partnership with VPAP and VPCI, provide a wide range of support to the development and execution of a portfolio of Alliance community program offerings 
  • Ideate, strategize, prepare, produce, shadow and codify knowledge from Alliance community program offerings such as leadership cohorts, strategic supports, program tracks, community collaborations, and special projects (e.g. Youth Trustee Board, early-stage Partner Cities work). 
  • Support active member engagement in Alliance programming, in partnership with Programming & Impact, Alliance Engagement and Collective Action teams  

 

Systems & Operations  

  • Create, test and implement ongoing systems and process design to ensure flawless execution.   
  • Manage project-planning for programming, as assigned, and provide regular project updates to various stakeholders about strategy, adjustments, and progress.  
  • Track programming offerings and participation ensuring completion with high satisfaction.  
  • Support with developing operational plans for programming, execution and measuring impact.  

 

Learning, Data & Reporting  

  • Collect and communicate Alliance community insights, preferences, and aspirations to inform the development of future programming.   
  • Support internal communication and shared learning among the Alliance Programming & Impact, Alliance Engagement and Collective Action teams.   
  • Deploy measures and processes to ensure quality control, satisfaction, and continuous improvement 
  • Synthesize, analyze, and report data for utilization in fundraising and recruitment purposes.  

 

Continuous Improvement  

  • Support the quick measurement and feedback loops of individual program elements.   
  • Identify and execute opportunities to optimize our program management processes and programs.   
  • Contribute to ongoing reflection and learning sessions to drive the continuous improvement of our community over time.   

 

Competencies & Experience 

  • At least five years of experience in youth-supporting organizations, with experience in at least one of our four issue areas  
  • Attention to details to ensure flawless execution of operational and program offerings  
  • High communication and internal cross-collaboration skills, with demonstrated ability to drive strategy into action  
  • Proven project management experience  
  • Flexibility / comfort with ambiguity & complexity  
  • Engaging communicator and facilitator
