• Our Education & Career Services program imparts individual community members with the practical tools necessary to build secure and prosperous futures.


Job Title: Workforce Solutions Manager

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

This is a full-time position within the Education & Career Services Department reporting to the Train & Earn Program Manager and working closely with other members of the department’s workforce solutions team.  This role is hybrid, requiring at least two days per week in office, as well as attendance at in person meetings, conferences, and events as necessary.  

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Program Implementation:

• Facilitate select sessions in NMIC’s employment readiness training (ERT) that introduce clients to the job search and application processes, workplace expectations, and characteristics that promote job retention and advancement. 

• Lead sessions to introduce clients to a range of employers and career pathways.

• Interview, screen and evaluate candidates’ job readiness prior to referral to employment interviews.

• Perform mock interviews/employment readiness preparation with candidates when necessary or refer candidates to staff for further coaching.

• Match interview referrals to candidates’ interests, occupational training tracks and skill sets.

Business Development:

• Develop an outreach strategy including a marketing materials (fliers, one pagers and presentation materials) that promotes NMIC’s workforce brand to employers, funders, and other key stakeholders.

• Build a strong and sustainable pipeline of quality employment opportunities with a focus on security and health careers.

• Follow up with employers to get feedback on candidates and to secure documentation verifying candidates’ employment outcomes

• Design, test and implement a wide range of employment support services (e.g., labor market education, career assessments, etc.) to produce high-value placements.

• Utilize data management and tracking tools to track all candidate interviews, employer feedback and placement data to ensure programs are on track to meet annual performance goals.

Administrative and other Duties:

• Manage relationships with stakeholders, including funders, program partners, professional associations, employer coalitions, and others.

• Submit weekly and monthly reports on account management activities, job placements and business development activities.

• Work closely with leadership staff and other stakeholders to develop a customized, dynamic ERT curriculum that includes presentations, worksheets, multimedia elements and activities to support candidate learning in multi-level classrooms.

• Become proficient with data tracking tools, including NMIC and key funder databases, to support performance management.

• Attend all division, department and agency meetings, trainings or workshops as required.

• Additional related responsibilities may be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 3 years of experience in workforce development, HR, sales or development.

• Excellent written and verbal communication ability, including presentation techniques and interpersonal skills.

• Proactive and outgoing personality.

• Superior problem solving skills and results-oriented.

• Strong working knowledge of all MS Office applications, particularly Word and Excel.

• Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred.


SALARY/BENEFITS:

Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, life, and disability insurance; paid time off consisting of 20 vacation days, 15 sick days, 5 personal days, 11 agency holidays, plus the week off from Christmas Eve through New Year's Day; a 401k with agency contribution; and other benefits.

Salary: $60,00 to $68,000 based on experience
