Mission:
Alabama Institute for Deaf and Blind, located
in Helen Keller's home state, is one of the
country's most comprehensive resources for
the education and service needs of people
with vision and/or hearing loss.
At AIDB.org, learn more about how hearing
and vision loss affect people of all ages, and
how AIDB focuses on ability, not disability.
Order blind-made products or alumni gifts
online. Alabama teachers can order braille
and large-print instructional materials and
books online.
Alabama Institute for Deaf and Blind
provides access and training in assistive
technology to clients on four Talladega
campuses and through a statewide network
of regional centers. Each regional center is
fully equipped for videoconferencing, and
offers a variety of equipment for loan. AIDB
is also the distributor for the Alabama
Telecommunications Access Program,
which provides free assistive
telecommunication devices.
