The McGill Institute for Health and Social Policy is a university-wide research institute that studies the impact of social conditions on health and leads global programs designed to translate research findings into effective policies and programs to improve the social conditions of the worst off. IHSP’s current initiatives include building the world’s first truly global social policy data laboratory, the WoRLD (World Rights Legal Data Centre) undertaking rigorous, cross-country global comparative research to understand how policies are affecting equity, health and social outcomes and conducting case studies in Canada and globally on successful policies and programs to learn from what is working and develop recommendations for improving policies around the world.
