Steps to Success is a comprehensive school- and
community-based initiative that assists low income
and recently immigrated students to achieve school
success and continue to post-secondary education.
From grades 4-12, students progress through a
continuum of academic support and enrichment
programs, early college awareness and readiness
activties, school-to-work connections, while their
families are involved in various other support and
information services. The heart of the program is a
special advising system which provides individual and
small group mentoring by Steps to Success staff
throughout young people's participation in the
program. Interaction with school staff and community
resources are also important aspects of the initiative.
