The American Islamic Congress (AIC) is an independent, non-partisan non-profit organization dedicated to building interfaith and interethnic understanding and to promoting the progressive and pluralist voices of Islam. We believe American Muslims must take the lead in building understanding and fostering a respect for human rights and social justice at home and throughout the Muslim world. Members of our Board of Directors, staff, and organization members include Muslims, Christians and Jews, as well as representatives from other faith traditions, agnostics and atheists.

With the Muslim community we have built a coalition around the principles of an unequivocal denunciation of terrorism, extremism, and hate speech. Reaching out to all peoples of conscience, we promote genuine interfaith dialogue and stress that tremendous diversity exists within Islam and in Muslim communities throughout the world.
