Mission:

The Williams Institute is a national think tank dedicated to the field of sexual orientation law and public policy. It advances law and public policy through rigorous, independent research and scholarship. Drawing on the intellectual and material resources of UCLA, one of the world's leading research universities, the Williams Institute provides a national center for the interdisciplinary exploration of the issues central to sexual orientation law by scholars, judges, practitioners, advocates, and students. The Institute assists scholars in generating new ideas, researching and developing those ideas, and producing published legal scholarship and public policy analysis. It also works to disseminate research and scholarship to law and policy-makers, the media, and the public through regular conferences, meetings, and published materials.
