Public Policy Productions has produced 30 documentaries for national public television. Over the past two decades these documentaries have won over a hundred awards including Peabody, Emmy, and duPont-Columbia awards as well as two Academy Award nominations. In the fall of 2008, the company is releasing CRITICAL CONDITION about the nations growing health insurance crisis. Our current production about capital punishment, EXECUTING JUSTICE, focuses on the murder of a subject of a recent film, and the use of that film in the trial to secure the death penalty. Recent productions include AGING OUT about teenagers that "age out" of the foster care system and suddenly discover that they're on their own, WAGING A LIVING about the struggle of low-wage workers to lift their families out of poverty, THE MAIN STREAM about an off-beat journey down the Mississippi River to explore the literal and metaphorical "mainstream" of America, and SOUND AND FURY about a loving family torn apart by a medical technology which promises to end deafness.
