Mission:
Independent Arts & Media is a volunteer-run, 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in San Francisco. Indy Arts's mission is to strengthen the culture of democracy by producing, supporting and curating independent outlets for news, creative expression, civil dialog and civic participation. Indy Arts programs train and support independent artists and media workers and also produces and presents independent arts, music and media.
Indy Arts produces the annual grassroots Expo for Independent Arts; D.I.Y. workshops and training programs for independent artists and musicians; public Dialogue & Ideas Forums; and the commercial-free, nonpartisan journalism project Newsdesk.org.
