JA's mission is ensure that every child in America has a fundamental understanding of the Free Enterprise system. There is no more thorough way to educate young people than by using a practical application of knowledge in an experiential setting, and Junior Achievement (JA) programs give students the opportunity to combine practical applications with the general principles they learn in the classroom.

JA's various Programs cover critical issues in the lives of our students: Drop-Out Prevention, Economic Education, Financial Literacy, Life Management Skills/Knowledge, Entrepreneurism, and Career Awareness. JA of South Florida served 15,000+ students in 2006, and committed role models served as classroom volunteers/mentors, sharing their expertise, advice, and meeting Sunshine State Standards at every grade level. Our seven full-time and one part-time staff members have over 50 years combined JA experience.

Junior Achievement believes in collaboration and has significant working relationships with these organizations: After School Programs, Inc., Local Chambers of Commerce, Florida Atlantic University, Basketball Science, JROTC, Boys and Girls Clubs, Take Stock in Children,American Express, The City of Fort Lauderdale, After School Programs, Stars Academy, Broward Alliance, The Pace Center for Girls, Broward Community College, and Broward & Palm Beach County School Districts, to name a few.
