Description:
Oakland Children’s Hospital serves children with the most complex and serious illnesses, like leukemia, cancer, heart defects, sickle cell anemia, diabetes and cystic fibrosis. The hospital is nearly 100 years old. Built in 1912, Oakland Children’s Hospital is not adequate and must be rebuilt to address existing and future needs and to meet seismic safety standards.
The Campaign to Rebuild Oakland Children's Hospital is a grassroots effort to raise awareness about the Hospital's need to rebuild and the initiative that will provide the funding necessary to do so. The 'Rebuild Children's Hospital Initiative' will be on California's February 5th, 2008 primary ballot.
How to participate:
Click [Join this Group] on the right hand side of this page. You must be logged in to join.
Our efforts to build support and get the word out about the initiative will culminate in a massive yard sign campaign. We will plant 50,000 signs in the yards of Alameda County Residents, and we need help doing it! We will need lots of volunteers to help assemble and distribute yard signs throughout the county. Please contact our headquarters at (510) 428-3693 for more information or to sign up to volunteer!
Thank you and hope to see you soon!
