Women Aware is a private, non-profit agency that provides services to victims of domestic violence and their children. Now in our 28th year of operation, we have established ourselves as a highly regarded and dependable provider agency within the Middlesex County social service system. As the only comprehensive agnecy for victims of domestic violence, we provide unduplicated services to the community. Our mission is to end abuse for all people...women, men and children. We provide the following: a 21 bed shelter in a confidential location, a 24 hour, 7 day hotline for crisis counseling and referral (Spanish speaking staff available), an Outreach Center for individual counseling and legal assistance, several support groups offered a few times per week, a community education program educating community about domestic violence and to sensitize them to the special needs of victims, a Professional Children's Counseling Program offereing play and art therapy, as well as ongoing counseling for custodial parents, and trainings for community domestic violence response teams which coordinates members of the community with their local police to assist victims.
