Mission:

The East Bay Academy for Young Scientists works to increase science literacy for the purposes of youth empowerment. We hold after-school science classes in Oakland, Emeryville and Richmond where we work to increase students' critical thinking skills and knowledge of the scientific process. With older students we carry out community based research projects on environmental science problems such as air and water quality. With collected data we work to share the information with the community and push for policy changes.
