About Us

What started off as an after-school program, The Honey Project has become a movement of Change Makers! The Honey Project addresses two paramount issues in one program initiative: youth development and poverty alleviation. From the 62 High School students in Broward County, FL who underwent a 12-week Entrepreneurship Training, 15 aspiring students have transitioned into the Honey Project, a Non-Profit company. Students run and operate all aspects of the business of importing Organic Honey from Western Africa, Agogo Ghana and creating a market for the product in the United States. In turn, the beekeepers have an economic opportunity to operate their small business in Honey, making a living through this international partnership. This flagship program enables high school students to utilize their training in a legitimate business setting, while giving them the opportunity to develop their individual business plans for their future companies. We emphasize Social Entrepreneurship and Education to combat poverty! Our purpose is to prove that Youth Entrepreneurship, Technology and E-commerce applications are key to alleviating global poverty! We are currently starting our Honey Project 2015 Campaign supporting the UN Millenium Development Goals (MDG's) to eradicate poverty by 2015, from which the Honey Project already meets 3 out of the 8 goals! The youth of this organization have had tremondous success and an impact on global humanitarian efforts! Please contact us to learn more and to see if we can engage in a partnership as the Honey Project model will be utilized in various States in the US!
