Mission:
The NYSSMPD is a unique group that brings together both professionals and laypersons to discuss and learn from each other. The meetings also feature a lecture or presentation on current issues in the field. The New York Society is a New York city based support group devoted to the understanding of the dissociative disorders, including Dissociative Identity Disorder, commonly known as Multiple Personality. Membership is open to anyone who has been diagnosed or suspects they may have a dissociative disorder, professionals in the field, and anyone dedicated to the search for answers to improve their quality of life.
The New York Society is an affiliated study group of the ISSD, the International Society for the Study of Dissociation, which has study groups throughout the United States, Canada and abroad.
Our goal is to further the understanding of these disorders and we make every effort to bring to our members the latest information on research, diagnosis and treatment.
