Citizens' Initiative and Referendum I&R ~ GB
We advocate the introduction of direct democratic procedures such as citizens' initiative, referendum, and recall in the countries of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. See our web site for proposals, campaign resources, an offer to provide speakers, workshops and conference reports.
I&R ~ GB is the "CAMPAIGNERS' CAMPAIGN". Advanced tools of democracy such as "I and R" allow people and groups to veto government law, to put own proposals ON THE PUBLIC AGENDA, to demand and get a referendum (local or countrywide) if need be.
Remember that the political parties PROMISED referenda and never delivered: the Euro, the electoral system, the European "constitution". Imagine if we had the
