Indego Africa is a non-profit built upon the belief that Africans can overcome poverty by taking full advantage of market opportunities and upgrading their job skills to improve their long-term earning prospects. Indego Africa connects talented African artisans with export markets for their handicrafts and then directs 100% of profits from sales towards training them in other skills that are valued in their local economy. By giving profits back to our partner cooperatives, our social enterprise approach is breaking the aid dependence paradigm and setting new standards for the fair trade industry. Indego Africa currently works with incredible artisans in Rwanda, many of whom are genocide widows caring for multiple children.
