Description:

One of our initiatives this year is to cosponsor and walk in the
Urban Walk for Haiti on April 5th, 2008 at 29 Mt. Auburn St, Cambridge, MA,
02138.

The Urban Walk for Haiti is an event started five years ago by educators,
students and community leaders aimed at raising money and awareness for the
western hemisphere's poorest country through the Boston-based organization,
Partners in Health. The funds help support the health initiatives of the
world-renowned Dr. Paul Farmer at various sites throughout Haiti, specifically
in Boucan Carré and Cange. In the last four years, nearly 100% of the funds
raised and donated have helped equip operating rooms, provide community health
education and medicine, construct reliable shelter, encourage water and food
programs, and raise the standard of living.

The walk takes place along the Charles River for about 3 miles. Registration
begins around 12:00 P.M. There will be Haitian entertaintainment, crafts and
food before the walk. All are encouraged to attend the walk and raise money for
Partners in Health's Haitian programs.

Thank you,
Michelle
