World Day of Prayer is an ecumenical movement initiated and carried out by Christian women in more than 170 countries and regions who conduct an annual day of prayer – the first Friday in March – to which all people are welcome. World Day of Prayer brings together women of various races, cultures and traditions in closer fellowship, understanding and action throughout the year. Through WDP women affirm that prayer and action are inseparable and have an influence on the world.
