Mission:

The American Institute of Architects (AIA) is the nation’s largest organization representing members of the architectural profession. Founded in 1887, the Washington Chapter of the American Institute of Architects serves the Nation's Capital, functioning as both the “local” and “state” component of the AIA for the District of Columbia. Representing more than 1,800 architects and related professionals, we are the eighth largest chapter in the country. The Chapter was intimately involved in the design and planning of Washington, DC and it continues to play an active role in city development today.

AIA|DC is dedicated to meeting the needs of Washington’s architects, designers, contractors, and related industry professionals. How? By providing quality service, advancing member value, supporting professional development and providing unique networking opportunities.
