Seeding the City is a public art project that employs social networking to site and install individual green roof modules. It capitalizes on community building to introduce urban environmental issues and remediation tools. I will design and install street-level signage and rooftop flags as a visual mapping of the network to spark curiosity among passersby. I will create and share through a website educational and community building tools and resources, including a map of the network, tools for tracking local urban environmental issues, and resources to recreate the project worldwide. Seeding the City will use art and technology to build community to collectively address urban environmental issues and share remediation tools.
