Mission:
Therapeutic Horse Riding Instruction of Lawrence, Inc. or THRIL is a not-for-profit (501 c 3) organization committed to providing high-quality, equine oriented activities for children and adults with disabilities. THRIL provides services to students residing in and around Douglas County, Kansas. Therapeutic riding teaches people about horses and horse care; helps improve coordination and other physical skills; and provides social opportunities to enhance interpersonal skills and reap the rewards of a human-animal friendship. THRIL helps people of all ages and abilities, currently serves 11 students with several students waiting to receive services, and is operated by volunteers and horses loaned or donated to the program.
