Mission:
The mission of Campus Chapters of Habitat for Humanity is:
"To capture the imagination, energy, and hope of students in order to productively and responsibly involve them in the work of Habitat for Humanity."
The University of Nebraska Campus Chapter will meet this mission by:
-providing construction and other projects which will allow students to get involved in a hands-on manner.
-getting involved with local Habitat families.
-working to increase the awareness of the UNL campus community on such issues as substandard housing and homelessness in the Lincoln community, the United States, and the world.
-raising funds to finance the construction of a new Habitat home by the chapter and to further the work of HFHI and Lincoln/Lancaster County HFH.
-providing opportunities for chapter members to learn and develop leadership skills that will prepare them for future involvement with Habitat for Humanity and other volunteer organizations.
-encouraging chapter members to think proactively and to become more involved in housing issues at the grassroots level.
The future of this movement lies with the young people. --Millard Fuller, founder, HFHI
