Description:

My name is Zmira Ron and I am a multi-disciplinary artist, instructor and writer, focusing on Community, social theater. Every my works accompany in Facilitation, production, planning, policy development, supervision and team leading, skills Development and program development, intermediation with various community actors, budget management. In addition I could work in organization and production as well as staff management.
I am currently an instructor at the Tel Aviv University, Israel, managing projects for "Create in the Community” and holding workshops in multi-disciplinary theater. In addition, I am teaching Palestinian women and girls at the communal theater in Jaffa.
I wrote a professional book, "Create in the Community", a guidebook of original workshops, based on my work experience in different communities which survive under long-lasting oppression, from which I absorbed materials into the creative process in cooperation with the communities with whom I worked. The book assists and inspires directors in the communities to create out of social perception.
I am volunteering with several non-governmental organizations, including The Democratic Mizrahi Rainbow Coalition (a social movement struggling for social and economical equal opportunities), and the Mizrahi feminist group AHOTI (Hebrew for sister), that has for the first time introduced the concepts, theories and praxis of Black Feminism, as it’s known in the US.
A movement striving to bring about a meaningful change among the Israeli society and implement values of democracy, human rights, social justice, equality and multi culturality.
In addition, I am volunteering in shelters for African refugees who recently arrived in Israel. I am organizing food, clothing and other urgent items for over 150 refugees, mainly coming from Sudan, Eritrea and Ivory Coast From my knowledge, my talents and experience, I developed the wish to work in refugee camps in Africa.
