Description:
I am a 24 year old recent graduate of UNCG with a degree in Leisure Services Management. I got into this field with the intention of starting my own recreational leadership organization, but have since decided to go to law school for Environmental Law. I am currently searching for jobs that will prepare me for a career in environmental issues. I have very diverse interests and passions, in everything from animal rights to environmental law to political theory. I want to attend law school because I think it will provide the best base of knowledge and the most opportunities that would appeal to me as careers, not because I necessarily want to be a lawyer. I am volunteering at my local Environmental Management office, doing research into watershed and aquifer protection and contributing to the writing of a new policy regarding these areas.
I have also made personal financial sacrifices in the last two years in order to travel internationally. I have been to South Africa, Namibia, Costa Rica, and Panama. The trip to Central America was a two month journey with my sister, where we investigated sustainable practices in a country whose claim to fame is eco-tourism. I am extremely interested in traveling and learning more about sustainable living and tourism practices.
