"I was born and raised (and again live in) a city that is pretty flacid when it comes to activism, despite its robust resource economy. Very few NGOs operate at all in my region and there are no headquarters of movements I would be interested in. Therefore, I think it 's vital for networking among activist-minded individuals and groups to connect and hopefully add the spark of protest to Calgary."
