Description:

Angela’s first passion was in emergency medicine and began her career as an emergency medical technician. More recently she can be found working on projects related to issues that include the impact of disasters and violence on women & children, advancing the field of emergency management, leadership development for girls & women and family advocacy. She is currently responsible for leading the Emergency Management and Business Continuity Program at Caritas Christi Healthcare in Boston and serves as a consultant to both the public and private sectors.

In September of 2005 she led Caritas’ system-wide response to Hurricane Katrina and she has been involved in supporting fundraising, relief and recovery efforts following disasters since 1990. She is one of the founding members of BCPWHO and over the past 17 years has been a Disaster Action Team Member, has served on several committees on emergency response and has developed academic programs on business continuity & emergency management. She is a speaker, writer, and a passionate advocate for humanitarian and woman’s issues. In her spare time you’ll often find her capturing the world around her with her camera, climbing mountains and spending time with her family. She can be reached at adevlen@bcpwho.org.
