Hello, I'm Georgie Wisen and I'm currently working to provide play therapy services to children and their families in the school setting. This child-centered form of therapy is a way for children to express their feelings, explore their problems, try out new perspectives, resolve conflicts, and overcome painful or traumatic experiences from the past. I've recently completed a Masters in Play Therapy from Roehampton University in London, UK and have applied that knowledge to my current practice in two South London primary schools. I previously trained in family therapy in Southern Calif (MA Marriage and Family Therapy, Chapman University 2006) and have five years direct experience as a Therapeutic Behavioral Specialist for the County of Orange/ Child Guidance Centers and as an MFT Intern Therapist at the Chapman Community Clinic. Before that I earned by BS Psychology from UCDavis. This summer, I'm looking forward to crossing the Atlantic once again and moving to San Francisco, where I hope to find new friends and a job where something exciting (and challenging!) happens everyday.
