I'm a human rights activist who hopes to find a career somewhere that tackles Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender inequality around the world and in the US. Recognizing the intricate connections between sexual orientation, gender, sex, class, race, ability, ageism etc. I also would like to examine and critique cultural conceptions of masculinity, sexuality, gender roles and identifications, gender inequalities, etc, etc. My main areas of concern are things like Gay and Lesbian civil rights in America, specifically targeting youth who are the most vulnerable population in the community as well as things like sex traffiking and all the various points of contention that it stems from ie the religious perspective of abstinence only and creating fear around sexuality, to media representations of men and women and sexuality, pornography, and patriarchal attitudes towards gender that dehumanize and object the human body and erase the spirit. Also being a citizen of the world, I would like to pursue opportunities that are not just in the US but internationally as well.
