Description:

I am a college student who splits her time between Tempe, Arizona (summers and Christmas) and Worcester, Massachusetts (school year). I am a religious studies major interested in the relationship between Christian faith and social justice/liberation from oppression. I believe in the importance of solidarity and of choosing a preferential option for the poor. In fall 2008, I will be starting my junior year of college. I am very liberal politically. On my college campus I am involved in Pax Christi, a Catholic Peace and Social Justice group, the Gay-Straight Alliance, our Environmental Action group, and Student Programs for Urban Development--through which I volunteer at a shelter for homeless women and children. I have a wide range of interests and I'm not entirely sure what most excites or motivates me yet. All the interests above are things I am passionate about. I just don't know which one I am most passionate about yet. I know I want to work for change and I intend to do that.

I'm working with Environment Arizona this summer on a campaign to ensure that the Western Climate Initiative is a strong measure that does more than just pay lip service to the idea of global warming. It´s great.
