Description:
With diverse professional interests in international relations, community development, the fine arts, health care and children's advocacy, Ellen has orchestrated major philanthropic and fund development programs throughout her career. She has served in a variety of management positions in the nonprofit industry for the past 20 plus years. She is a member of the adjunct faculty of Park University’s Hauptmann School for Public Affairs. She teaches a variety of graduate courses in nonprofit management, marketing and communications and nongovernmental organizational behavior and leadership. During her tenure as Executive Director for the Caring Program for Children, her stewardship culminated in the organization’s recognition for the 1996 Honor Roll Award from Kansas City's Partnership for Children. She has demonstrated strong leadership capabilities with positions at the United Nations, Starlight Theater and Blue Cross Blue Shield of Kansas City. She received her B.A. from Grinnell College, pursued graduate studies at the London School of Economics, and received her Masters in Nonprofit Management from the School for International Training in Brattleboro, Vermont.
