Location: New Brunswick, New Jersey, United States
Area of Focus: Economic Development
Language(s): English, French, Italian, Spanish

Description:

Charlotte grew up in Ithaca, New York, where she began studying photography at Cornell University before attending Parsons School of Design and Princeton University. At Princeton she completed coursework in architecture, history, and visual arts, receiving her BA in Intellectual History in 2005. Currently completing her MFA in Photography at Rutgers University, Charlotte is transitioning into the professional world and is working on two long term photographic projects: one on the subprime crisis in the US, and another on the aftermath of Guatemala's 36-year civil war.

In addition to her primary area of expertise as a photographer, Charlotte has experience in a variety of fields, including: graphic design and identity development; communications; leadership and community development; labor organizing; arts administration; and archival and database research. She uses these skills in combination to make photographs that reach beyond the art world to contribute to broader dialog about social and political issues.
