My name is Ovington Prophete, co-founder and President of The Candy Store Marketing Group. I was around this entertainment industry for 12 years and still counting. I directly didn’t come straight in Marketing & Promotion but start as an inspiring artist. The music group I started with was called “Blind Alley”. A ghetto abstract group based in Queens in which we did shows from New York to the Florida, and surrounding regions. From a short period time later. I gain interest in the music business from assisting my former manager at that time. Where I helped him with his promotional company where his clients where Def Jam and Tommy Boy records. I took a great interest in Promotions, when the record deals that where offer to the group where not coming in or not attractive enough not promising us a strong music career. At this time I embarked on starting my own company along side with manager as his apprentice. Where I start working for Def Jam, Tommy Boy, and Wild Pitch with my manager. After 1 year learning the ins and outs of the music business and successfully receiving my degree in Business Management. I official started my own venture with long-time friend/partner, Scott “Redd” Walker, and started The Candy Store Promotions. Where are first official accounts was Funkdoobiest and The Rhyme and Reasons Soundtrack/Movie, which the Rhyme and Reason project was a very successful account, compare to the Funkdoobiest. At this time I took hiatus from promoting to reevaluate the companies ways of operations. I was sponsored by Sony Music to attend the American Management Association School for a month and a half. From the knowledge of the AMA, I change the name of the company into The Candy Store Entertainment. Where we concentration on eliminated outsourcings for our future clients, I added Promotions, Merchandising, Retail promotion and a much wider needed coverage area. From there our next projects was Capone-N-Norega, Black Expo, Dare to Design, and multiple sub-contract work with companies such as Milk Promotions, Po-No-Mo Entertainment and Paulie D Productions. Through this action we work with the likes of Jive, RCA, Dreamworks, Priority, XXL, The Source, Hookt.com, and many others. From these merger help build the company repetition and gain experience to another level at the same time changing the company name presently to The Candy Store Marketing Group where we provided service for small to big clients on any scale needed to gain market share in their respective marketplace. Truly a fully integrated service-marketing agency based in New York City. By building my experience as well as the company. I worked with various companies, such as American Medical Association, Bacardi Flavored Rums, Universal Records, Rebel Organizations, and Miranda Movies. My personal and company’s goal is to meet the objective of our clients no matter the conditions given to me. I see the CSMG still around for the next 10 years and going and self-running machine. Where I will pursue something else in the entertainment business and still have CSMG there for me and my family.
