Description:
I am a filmmaker by trade. I believe film has the capacity to be a potent tool for social change, by reaching people with critical information and insight through their hearts AND their minds. It is an essential medium especially in areas of the world prone to illiteracy.
Despite being a good and passionate filmmaker, I find myself called toward living intentionally--trying to find or craft a personally, socially and environmentally sustainable lifestyle that rewards myself and the planet equally. I have been a social justice activist for many years. I discovered anarchist and co-op organizing in Pittsburgh, PA through the likes of Free Ride!, Landslide Community Farm, and other organizations that inspired me to make this my life's work.
I wish to start a video production company that is operated from a collective model, and is a not-for-profit in that the films it produces are pro-bono and exist to spread the messages of our world's most important voices. Please contact me immediately if you like this idea.
My other interests include:
* "runoff voting" and other solutions to make the U.S. more of a real democracy
* expanding the worldwide use of innovative, community-based and small-scale sustainable alternatives
* at all avenues, removing power from authoritative bodies (mainly corporations at this time) and putting it back in the hands of the people
