I will be moving to the Bay Area in August, and am searching for both professional and personal opportunities for growth. My passions lie in working toward equal educational opportunity for all children, increasing resources and access for families living in poverty, and continuing to discover the world through travel. Having been a public school teacher in the Bronx, a social worker for families, and a volunteer in Ghana and Peru, I have a broad cultural and social understanding of the inequalities perpetuated through social forces. I have my Master's in Social Work from New York University, and currently work as the Director of Outreach for a non-profit organization which provides outdoor experiential education to at-risk youth. I also train youth development workers to manage difficult behaviors in children. I would greatly appreciate any advice you might have on finding fulfilling employment in the Bay Area and/or other organizations or groups with which I could become involved.
