Description:
After serving as a certified bilingual teacher for two years with Teach for America at a K-3 school in the Bronx, I am currently beginning a career in graphic design. As I finish a 1-year program in communication design at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City, I have built upon skills gained as a Studio Art and International Studies Honors Student at Denison University in Ohio. I am very interested in pursuing opportunities to use graphic design to promote social and environmental justice, and generally gain more experience in the field. I am particularly passionate about finding ways to help foster more healthy and sustainable food systems, especially to benefit urban families like those I served as a teacher. I will likely be moving to Seattle in August of 2009, and look forward to digging right in!
