This page contains a full description of the Social Transformation Training in English. It is written for interested applicants in Medellin who are not Colombian - such as digital nomads and expats. However, the training is open to Spanish speaking Colombians and others living in Medellin. En Espanol.

The Social Transformation Training consists of 6 sessions designed to help an individual increase their impact as a change agent in society. This can mean in Medellin, the city we are in, but these skills are transferable to any setting. The curriculum takes into account that participants will only be fluent in either English or Spanish. This training is bilingual and will include serious cultural exchange with Spanish speaking Colombians.

Three organizations have come together to offer this as a pilot program. We are: 

• Idealist.org. A nonprofit organization based in New York founded in 1995. Specializing in helping people find jobs in the nonprofit sector around the world.
• DNACol. The Digital Nomad Association Colombia. A nonprofit organization founded in 2022 with the mission of connecting, inspiring and guiding digital nomads in Colombia and creating opportunities for them to get involved with Colombian civil society.  
• Juntando. A nonprofit corporation focused on social transformation, based on 4 basic principles, dignity, equity, empathy and social justice. It covers 3 main areas: training, psychosocial and communication.

1. Thursday, Nov. 16th: Introduction + Medellin Reality Check* 
2. Monday, Nov. 20th: One-on-One Training* 
3. Thursday, Nov. 23rd: Introduction to Social Change/Transformation**
4. Thursday, Nov. 30th: Introduction to Volunteer Management (Online)** 
5. Thursday, Dec. 7th: The Mechanics of Social Change**
6. Thursday, Dec. 14th: Presentations and Graduation*

There are six sessions over five weeks. Three of them are in person, and three are virtual. All except one are on a Thursday evening from 6:30-8:30pm.

Cost

Colombians accepted into this program can attend for free. Those with a foreign passport must join CNACol. A six month membership is $60. If this is a hardship, please ask us about this.

Our priority is to accept people who will be able to attend the meetings, both in person and online. Please note the dates and locations of the sessions, so you know in advance that you can attend all of them.

We have as a goal to accept a diverse group of people, both Colombian and foreign. You should feel confident about applying regardless of your age, profession, country of origin, race, or sexual orientation.
