Adult Literacy and ESL Tutors -- work virtually one-to-one with adult learners

Description:

The Imani House Adult Literacy Program needs volunteers to tutor adult learners in reading, writing and speaking English. Previous experience is desirable but not required. Some training available. 

We need tutors who are excited about helping our adult learners reach their literacy and speaking goals.  Students have changed their lives because of improved reading and speaking skills.  Our student population consists of adults who want to improve their lives through education. Some are taking the first steps in learning how to read or speak English, a few are working toward obtaining their GED, most are somewhere in between.

Our program is currently operating virtually.

Requirements:

• We request a commitment to a minimum of 3 months, 2 hours once a week or 1 hour twice a week. (Flexible schedule, weekdays or weekends.)
• English fluency and strong grammar skills
• We ask that all volunteers be at least 21 years of age.
