Description

  • This is an unpaid volunteer opportunity. 
  • Associate Directors are expected to put in a minimum of 10 hours per week and be responsive to emails within 36 hours.
  • STW™ welcomes volunteers who are seeking skill-based volunteering opportunity. STW™ shall provide "letter of recommendation"  professionals who demonstrate outstanding contribution for professional references.

SUMMARY:

Manages and supports the Publishing Group in building the news publications for the Save The Water™ website, staff written articles for the Save The Water™  website, scripts for our YouTube channel, and other external sites on Save The Water™  (i.e. Wikipedia).

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist the Director of Publishing with management and strategy.
  • Help Director oversee department of an average of 5-15 volunteers promoting the growth of followers and visitors to the website (SEO) in order to obtain advertising sponsors and donations
  • Assist the Director in planning and conducting monthly Publishing Group meetings, including sending agenda, taking meeting minutes, and follow up
  • Edit staff writer articles and other marketing documents as requested/needed
  • Attend Quarterly Operations Meetings
  • Attend Publishing group’s monthly meeting
  • Manage Project Leaders and Volunteers, including running weekly meetings.
  • Manage and keep operational documents current
  • Assist in developing procedures & documents for the organization.
  • Complete the PWR audit for the Project Leaders each month

EXPERIENCE/REQUIREMENTS:

  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects and details simultaneously 
  • Requires self-direction and must demonstrate effective oral communication skills and the ability to work cooperatively with staff inside and outside of the department
  • Basic understanding of WordPress
  • Demonstrated excellence in organizational, managerial, and communication skills
  • Associate degree (or currently enrolled in degree program) or comparable work experience
