Application deadline: May 12, 2024

Reports to: Support Director

Compensation: Unpaid volunteer role

Location: Remote

Mission:  To empower vulnerable neighbors with the help of a lawyer and the hope of God’s love through the home of the church.

We exist to invite others to use their gifts to advance God’s kingdom of justice and righteousness.  God’s heart beats for justice for the poor which is the second most prominent theme in the Bible.  Because He cares, so do we.  We demonstrate this by expanding access to Justice and Jesus.   1 in 3 Americans cannot afford an attorney.  In a nation that pledges “liberty and justice for all”, that should not be.  As Christ followers called to Administer true justice (Zechariah 7:9), that must not be.  Together we can change that story.

Vision:  To see 1,000 Gospel Justice Centers transforming lives in the name of Christ.

Transformation takes place as a trained team of volunteers establish neighborhood Gospel Justice Centers.  Each Center is distinctly biblical, holistic, team-based, neighborhood centered, dignity giving, self-sustaining and leads back to the local church.  The team provides legal, social, and spiritual support through a team of 9 different roles.

Values:  We value everyone doing their P.A.R.T. (1 Corinthians 12:12)

We are Professional, Adaptive, Result-oriented, Team-players. We live these values through our work knowing that our boss is Jesus. We embrace the truth that “Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men.” Colossians 3:23. Our values drive us to measure and improve results. This drives us to work through three teams to Engage, Equip, and Ensure great outcomes. We also strive to serve like Jesus; prayerfully, and with rhythms of rest and retreat.

Who You’ll Serve: You primarily serve four groups of people:

  • GROUP 1: Neighbors in need.  Legal help is hard to find.  Anxiety runs high.  Whether someone walks into our office, emails, or calls on the phone we want to quickly respond to them in a warm and loving way.  Providing an appointment or an appropriate referral reduces anxiety and plants a seed of hope for our vulnerable neighbors in need.
  • GROUP 2: Volunteers in the field. The AJ Team is not complete without the many volunteers that work hard to help clients access justice in their local communities. You help receive and respond to messages from volunteers looking for support while they are serving.
  • GROUP 3: Public.  You will field other inquiries from the public from agencies, churches, attorneys, vendors, volunteers, and others.  Knowing who to connect these individuals with for further assistance serves those who are seeking to connect with the ministry.
  • GROUP 4: The National Support Center (NSC) Team. You will serve your team through maintaining a safe and orderly environment.

What you’ll do:  You are part of the Equip Team which is responsible for program service delivery.

Your role within this team is to:

  • Warmly welcome all who contact AJ through answering phones, responding to emails, addressing on-site walk-ins, and any other routes people contact Administer Justice in the quickest and most effective manner of any Christian legal aid in the world;
  • Schedule clients for Gospel Justice Centers through our client scheduling system and setting them up in our client documentation system;
  • Uphold the ministry’s “dignity giving” & “self-sustaining” distinctives by communicating the importance of collecting a $30 copay from clients who schedule an appointment;
  • Provide efficient and helpful support to our volunteers serving across the country;
  • Respond to and help resolve inquiries from donors, partner agencies, or others who contact us;
  • Work on projects during downtime as directed by the Support Director and Equip Team;
  • Bring ideas to supervisor to improve the efficiency & quality of the National Support Center operations.

The impact you’ll have:  When done well you will experience joy from:

  • Hearing and seeing anxiety reduced when hope is offered by direction given.
  • Helping volunteers share the joy of loving neighbors by quickly responding & providing clear direction.
  • Helping ensure a safe and orderly environment at AJ’s National Support Center.
  • Knowing God is using your gifts to uphold client dignity, support client service, and enhance the ministry through your heart, ideas, and contributions.

Skills and qualifications:

  • In a growing, energetic relationship with Jesus & aligned with Administer Justice’s Statement of Faith.
  • Exceptional heart for service, able to guide others in this heart for deeper ministry impact.
  • Proficiency with online applications for email, communication, client scheduling, client documentation.
  • Experience answering and routing high volume phone calls, emails, and chats.
  • Enjoy working with others in order to ensure great outcomes for the ministry.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish strongly preferred
